When It comes to weight loss, It can be tough depending on what you love. I love to eat and controlling the portions and sugar is hard. I don’t get a ton of sleep these nights because my little one is teething and so that means, no sleep for mommy! When I dropped the weight from my first born, I learned a lot about myself and how to switch into a healthier snacking pattern so I wanted to share what I do, to help you!
Snacks For Weight Loss
Almonds are perfect If you’re a chip lover like me. I love the saltiness and crunch from chips. It’s my favorite substitute to get the salt and crunch out of my system. I decided to use almonds because they have the protein that I need. Since I’m trading carbs for protein, it’s my snack of choice. I put some in my purse, diaper bag or have it on hand so I can easily grab a handful to quickly stop the chip craving.
Greek Yogurt is an awesome Ice cream replacement. I know, what are you talking about? Listen, I switched Ice cream with the yogurt and somehow trained myself to prefer that over the sugary goodness. I use it with almond milk to make a style of ice cream or, add fruit and granola for a parfait.
Protein shakes are another favorite. I found some amazing protein that tastes incredible. If you want to find out which one I use, click here
Homemade smoothies are great because you can use the fruit you already have in the house with almond milk. I usually freeze banana’s and strawberries as a base, add a little almond milk and vanilla. If you’re feeling you need more anti-oxidants, try blueberries! It’s a great way to use up what you have and snack in the form of a drink.
Rolled or Steel Cut Oats – Cook or try overnight oats. Add some fruit and not only will you stay fuller longer, you’ll thank yourself for going with a healthier option.
Bonus Lunch or Snack Option
Veggie Bowl These are super easy to make and you can batch it so you have enough for other days. I took grounded up turkey, browned it and added all the veggies I wanted to eat in it. Quick, easy and a great snack or lunch option.
