I don’t always indulge, but when I do, I’m glad I’ve budgeted it out daily rather than have a cheat meal that usually cancels out the work i’ve put in during the five days I workout and eat under my calorie deficit.
For today, I’m sharing my three favorite meals. I like to eat packed with protein, lots of good carbs, and tastes yummy!
Whenever I need a filling lunch or dinner, I like to create my versions of protein bowls. My bases usually include Quinoa or Brown rice, and I build from there. I want to add a lot of colorful veggies and season it with garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. If I’m feeling, Zesty, I’ll add a lemon or lime.
This meal doesn’t take much time, and I love that I can add grilled chicken and season it with homemade teriyaki sauce or create a delicious Mexican bowl complete with Avocados and yummy crispy tortillas pieces.
I’m a lover of salad! I love that I can throw in fruit or keep it simple with turkey slices and blue cheese crumbles. I always add chicken for that extra protein complete with my balsamic dressing using olive oil, lemon, salt, and pepper.
Chicken is one of my favorite things to add because it takes on flavor well in almost any dish and works well with my family, who loves chicken.
SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIES WITH PROTEIN
In the morning or for snacks, I like to blend up superfood smoothies with a scoop of protein powder. Again, I try. To add protein in when I can! I want to do almond milk, a scoop of protein powder, half a banana, and spinach.
Blend it up and enjoy post-workout or If I’m feeling hungry in the morning. It’s quick, easy, and I love that I can add in superfoods like acai and ginger.
