Laura Mercier released new products that I am loving! They are called Pure Canvas Primer. Different primers that give you different effects for your skin.
The last several weeks, I’ve been trying them out and I’ve been having the time of my life creating texture and getting specific looks using them. In this post, I’m going to share my personal favorites, how I was matched and each one individually.

PURE CANVAS PRIMER
the primers are free of silicones. If you aren’t sure what that is; I did a quick google search to give you a slight explanation.
Silicone is a substance derived from silica (sand is a silica). The unique fluid properties of silicone give it a great deal of slip, and in its various forms it can feel like silk on the skin, impart emolliency, and be a water-binding agent that holds up well, even when skin becomes wet.Google.com
This primer is exactly what the name is. A hydrating primer. I have been fortunate enough to use Laura Mercier’s original formula and loved that one. This was the first one I tried.
It’s a light-weight primer that adds hydration into your skin, giving you a fresh finish and look to the skin. It has olive extract along with Marine Botanicals to add moisture to the skin. Comparing this with the original formula, It’s not as thick. It definitely hydrates the skin and feels really nice and smooth. The texture is a little wetter, but does a great job!
When I want dewy skin, this is a good one to try!
Another favorite of mine because it adds a gorgeous glow under makeup. I love using this when I’m doing less. complexion products. It illuminates the skin perfectly with a slight tint. If you’ve tried Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter, it’s very similar without a balmy texture.
It has a blend of Micronized Pearls for a gorgeous glow from within look and it has become a favorite of mine.
I’m still trying out this one. I find that it helps smooth the skin with a thicker texture in my opinion. It gives the skin a soft-focus look and conditions the skin to improve it over time. It also claims to absorb oil and create a mattifying effect.
I noticed that it pills a little when using a more hydrating foundation. I still have been testing other foundations with it. It seems like cream foundations are the best option. I’ll continue to try it and update this post with my final thoughts.
This one is similar to the original in terms of what it does. It helps protect the skin because it’s infused with SPF. I love using this one when I’m in the sun. I always use a separate sunscreen, but it’s a good thing to have a little extra protection.
The texture is smooth and it dissolves into the skin perfectly.
This is one I’ve been grabbing a lot. I like to use this with the original formula too. It allows your makeup to blend seamlessly and creates a beautiful finish.
It has Green Tea extract to help protect the skin against anti-aging and has Vitamin C to help with brightness. (I love Vitamin C)
I have been enjoying these products since I received them and just like the original primers, It takes some trial and error to find out which ones you’ll enjoy and which ones are perfect for each makeup look you’re going for. Laura Mercier is one of my favorite brands and I cannot wait to see what the brand decides to do next!
