as a blogger, I’m always testing and trying new beauty products. I’ve done this since I can remember. It started with skincare when I was 12 and had hyper-pigmentation. I tried so many drugstore products to try and get rid of it. Every-time I’d finish, I’d beg my mom to buy me something different.
Long story short, I ended up going to a dermatologist who prescribed me something strong to lighten the area and it worked!
fast forward to today; I’m still trying beauty products. This time, to share my opinions with you and. to have knowledge for my own daughters.
to maintain and make sure I’m using my collection, I always have my makeup bag in rotation. this month, I’m using 10 products that I believe will always be in my collection and that’s what I’m sharing with you today!
10 PRODUCTS IN MY MAKEUP BAG
I use primers as a way to add texture to the skin. My favorite primers are hydrating ones that allow my skin to glow. Laura Mercier has my favorite hydrating Primer. It’s smooth, wears well in humidity and it’s heavy on the skin.
If you need a more affordable option, I recommend JCatBeauty’s H2O Primer. It’s more hydrating and wet in texture but does a great job of giving your skin a really beautiful look.
Foundation is one of my favorite parts of texting makeup. I have a preference for skin-like texture, coverage and the ability to thin it out when needed, coverage when you have an event and can be used through all seasons.
Two foundations I’ve been using are from Neutrogena and Wet N Wild. They aren’t the only foundations, but they are what I’m reaching for daily.
I partnered with Neutrogena last week on some sponsored content that you can view here. I’ve used Neutrogena as a whole within my skincare routines and other makeup products as a teen and still even now.
Sponsored content doesn’t sway or change my opinion on performance and you’ll see that with any makeup product(s) I review.
Back to my makeup bag, I love the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid makeup because of the texture. It’s plushy, silky, has good coverage and looks incredible on the skin.
For Wet N Wild, I find that it works better than a lot of high-end foundations. If you need my two go-to’s, those are it right now!
My go-to concealer is the Super Coverage Multi-sculpting concealer from Too Faced. I love the formula, longevity, texture and how it blends into my skin rather than sit-on-top of it.
A little goes a long way (lasting me about 6-7 months) and the shade range is pretty good. I still mix two shades as of now since I’m not tan, but when I am, warm sand is the shade that matches me perfectly.
Nars also has an incredible pot concealer I like to use for makeup that evens out my skin when I don’t feel like wearing foundation.
My OG favorite is Laura Mercier. TLSP is the best that I’ve tried and I’ve tried a lot. There are some that I’ve compared and come close, but this is the best in my opinion.
I love purchasing face powders in deeper shades for my bronzers. No shimmer, not orange or too red. They are skin tones so they work well and are more affordable. Maybelline has its Matte and Poreless Line that I’m currently using now.
If I do recommend a good actual bronzer, Makeup Geek has a great one. I use the shade, Tawny.
I like a wet-looking highlight. My pick would be from Pixi Beauty. The Glowy Gossamer Duo is perfection and looks amazing. Blends easy and not frosty.
Makeup Geek has the perfect every-day, a universal palette that I use all the time. It’s from the In The Nudes Collection and the perfect eyeshadow. For day looks and night looks.
I tend to only purchase water-proof mascara because my eyes water and it always smudges. My current favorite is from LOreal. The Voluminous lash-paradise is awesome! If you like the original, you’ll enjoy this one too!
This changes often. I know I said 10, but I wanted to include a bonus of my favorite lip pair. It’s two different products that work perfectly together and it’s my favorite!
